The provocation for this philosphical enquiry is the barrage of analysis in the Indian MSM attributing the Saffron Surge in Karnataka to division of 'Secular' votes.Please note that the MSM analyst include the votes polled by JD-S in the 'secular' count.Yes the very JD-S which ran a fairly competent coalition government with BJP for entire 20 months till it reneged on its part of the agreement resulting in fresh elections
